B2 BOMBER ANALOG TO DIGITAL CONVERTER

2-channel 192kHz analog/digital converter

"After listening to the B2 I wanted to get an idea what was out there, so I demo-loaned 5 converters from Cutting Edge Audio in SF and did a brief shootout of my own. With each converter I recorded a rock mix from 2" tape through my Board into PT HD at 88.2k, 24 bit. ...openness on the high end, slight saturation / warmth, and deep bottom and "a 3d sound" describe it perfectly.  None of the other converters had such a deep bottom or smooth highs.  The B2's stereo image was the only one that sounded 3D.  The first thing I noticed was the kick drum, then the bass.  Really deep, warm and round.  Frankly, none of the other converters I tried sounded much better than the 192 with the Big Ben.  In my little shootout, the B2 stands out as the only one that actually sounds like analog.  I don't know how you did it, but hats off!

The other A/B comparison I did was in tracking a female vocal through a U67 and a Neve 31105 pre.  I only had time to compare the B2 to the 192/Big Ben.  It was immediately apparent that the B2 sounded way more clear, smooth, and natural.  She sounded "prettier" through it.  Kind of like taking away the mic and listening to her directly. " - Justin Weis, Trakworx
